Fusion's Future

7th February 2019

Short Breaks for Disabled Children – Fusion Short Breaks, is funded by Liverpool City Council and provides support to disabled children with a diagnosis in Liverpool. Their programme can be a lifeline for many families, especially their Ofsted registered provision in Croxteth which provides specialist care for over 150 disabled young people aged 3 years to 18 years, after school youth provision weekends and school holidays.

The team & their resources were relocated to a building in Croxteth Liverpool in January 2018 & the dedicated staff team continue to provide fantastic support, in addition to the services offered & we would like to support Short Breaks to further develop and extend their offer and enable them to be in a position where they can offer a range of additional opportunities for children and young people as a vast majority of disabled children who have complex behaviours, health needs and or physical needs require a sensory environment. Whilst the service offers this we would like to further develop the area and introduce new and creative opportunities forth children and young people accessing the service.

The current Short Breaks budget is utilised to fund the services delivered and the staff team that work with the children, additional funding would enable us as parents to further extend and build on the wonderful service and support that’s offered. The families of the disabled children & young people involved with Short Breaks, to develop a therapeutic environment which will include: Sensory room Therapy room Sensory gardens Play areas Appropriate wheelchair access in all areas Bike tracks (specialised mobility vehicles for all levels are used) This will be a MAJOR project to undertake & tradesmen aside, we are looking at costs of £250,000 for all materials & products. The families however, are dedicated & determined in fund raising, to actualize this – not only for those currently accessing this amazing service but for the future generations being supported by Fusion.

This organisation were the worthy winners of our Valentine's Competition: Winning a promotional video explaining to the world who they are and what they do.  We can't wait to get cracking with the filming and by the kind words we received yesterday when the winner was announced, I don't think the staff and children can wait either.

"The Parents and Carers of Fusions Future Croxteth would like to Thank  You Welton Media for a gift of advertising and on going support helping our children believe they can achieve .
